Fishing for Heroes was founded in 2009 by Tom Hill and Captain Tony Spacey.
Tom has worked with people with behavioural problems and learning disabilities in the past. He now owns the Devon and UK Fly Fishing School and is one of the country’s leading fly fishing instructors. He is a well known and much respected game angler in the South West.
Tony is a former soldier who has gone on to have a successful business career. He is a passionate game fisher and shot and can be found touring the UK’s trout fisheries chasing double figure trout and salmon. During the winter he can be found out with his dogs on the shooting estates of England.
Fishing for Heroes are a totally unique charity which specialises in the support and treatment of military veterans and serving personnel who are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD), Combat Fatigue or other mental and emotional problems relating to active service.
We will help any veteran of Great Britain or the Commonwealth who has served in any of the three armed forces and who has seen active or operational duty during any campaign since the 2nd World War.
